About Me

Madison...

Madison...
In July 2009 our lives were blessed with the most
wonderful gift ever! We adopted our sweet little Madison. She is full of energy
and keeps us on our toes. She has a smile that will melt your heart and knows
just how to work her mommy and daddy. Madi brings so much joy and happiness into
our lives and we cherish every moments we have with her!

Easton...

Easton...
On April 20, 2011 our sweet little Easton joined our family. We are so grateful
for the blessings of adoption and the amazing woman that has helped to bring our
family here. We are so excited to have a little guy around the house and look
forward to watching him grow.

Black Island Farms...

I love this time of year.  We have so many family traditions that we do from September through the end of the year, that it is hard to find a weekend that we aren't busy.  One of our traditions is Black Island Farms.
We decided that we wanted to save a whole day for Black Island Farms this year, so we put Oct 20th on the calender to spend there.  Last year we spent six or seven hours and thought we needed more time.  We got up and hurried to get there so we could make the most of our day.  The weather was fantastic.  It was around 80 degrees.  Since we had to find our pumpkins in the dark last year, we decided to do it first this year.  We waited our turn for the ride out.  The kids were anxious to get going.  Easton climbed all over while we waited for the tractor to get back.
When you find your pumpkin they have you raise your hand so they can come cut it off the vine.  Here is Madi with her pumpkin.
Easton got his first pumpkin this year.  He thought it was so fun to walk through the pumpkins and didn't want to get back on the trailer.
Derrick had to go back and get him.  Look at all those pumpkins to pick from.  I am pretty sure that we got the best four pumpkins they had. :D
We put the pumpkins in the car and then it was time to start our day in the courtyard.
Just inside the entrance we were greeted by Belle and Tinkerbell.  Madi was SOOO shy!  She was thrilled but didn't know what to say and wouldn't talk to them.  They were sweet and let us get a picture with them.
Ridin' the bull...
Giddy up horsey...
Easton was having a blast and wanted to run all over!
Madi loved the slides.  Easton preferred to stand at the top and throw hay on the people going down.  :D
Madi and Mama...
Rocking out on the drums...
Easton played the chimes...
The kids like this little silo.  They play peek-a-boo with us which is one of Easton's favorites!
We went through one of the corn mazes and Derrick got us lost.  It's a good thing I can read maps and I got us back out. :D  Easton spilled almost a whole bottle of Gatorade down himself and drenched his shirt.  Lucky for him, it was warm enough to go without a shirt.  Derrick even got sunburned.  After we found our way out of the maze, the kids played in the corn box for a little while before we left.
We had a great time and didn't actually do as much as we had in the previous years, but we had tired kids, we were warm and Derrick had bronchitis, so we only stayed for four hours.  Still got our money's worth though.  We love this place and are excited to go back next year!
