On Dec. 15th we had the annual Baum Family Christmas Party. It is something that is looked forward to and there is always a special visitor. The kids LOVE seeing Santa and it is great to see and visit family we don't see often. Santa was great. Before he handed out presents we sang some songs and he told us the Night Before Christmas.
He gets a little loud at parts and Madi is a little scared of him. She did better than last year though.
For one of the songs Santa needed some helpers. He picked eight men, my grandpa included (he's in the middle), had them roll their pants up to their knees and then had them do the Can Can while we sang. It was pretty amusing!
My great grandpa Baum had an amazing Christmas tree and village. It was huge! People would come and see it and it was even featured in the paper a few times. This year Santa brought framed pictures of his tree for each of his kids so here is my grandpa getting his gift from Santa. My grandpa has continued his dad's tradition with a decked out tree and village but on a smaller scale. I love seeing his tree and village and remember looking forward to seeing it when I was growing up.
Santa with his favorite little girl, Madison...
Madi was excited to open her present and see what she got. Santa brought her a book, Ballerina Rosie. He must have known that she loves all things ballerina!
Easton wasn't quite as sure as his sister. He was kind of freaked out. He didn't cry, but he wouldn't look at him either.
His new book from Santa cheered him up a bit. He got Creepy Monsters, Sleepy Monsters. Easton LOVES it and we read it at least once a day.
We had a fun night and enjoyed seeing our family. Thanks grandma and grandpa for all the work you put into making this happen every year!
