About Me

Madison...

Madison...
In July 2009 our lives were blessed with the most
wonderful gift ever! We adopted our sweet little Madison. She is full of energy
and keeps us on our toes. She has a smile that will melt your heart and knows
just how to work her mommy and daddy. Madi brings so much joy and happiness into
our lives and we cherish every moments we have with her!

Easton...

Easton...
On April 20, 2011 our sweet little Easton joined our family. We are so grateful
for the blessings of adoption and the amazing woman that has helped to bring our
family here. We are so excited to have a little guy around the house and look
forward to watching him grow.

Dancing Queen (and other stuff)...

Madi loves to have her picture taken.  She loves to be the center of attention and thinks she needs it all day long.  I wish I could spend all day playing with her but people keep wearing clothes at my house and eating and messes seem to reproducing so she has to share my time.  She loves to play dress up, kitchen, Barbies and My Little Ponies.  She continues to love music and dancing.  She sees pictures of dancers and tries to mimic their poses and dance steps.  She loves to read stories and has recently been asking me on a daily basis to tell her about when I got married.  The other day she asked me if I would go with her on her honeymoon.  Wonder if she will still feel that way in 20 years. :P
Since I have been using the Lose It app and counting my calories, I have been measuring my food.  Last weekend I was sick so I stayed in bed all weekend.  Derrick told me later that he poured Madi's cereal and milk and she refused to eat because he didn't measure it first.  She catches on to big words and loves to say them.  I love hearing what words she uses.  I think it makes her feel so grown up.  She is getting better with Easton or maybe it only seems that way because Easton is getting worse.  She still can make him laugh like nobody else and he still wants to see her the minute she wakes up.
We have started going to the library once a week.  Before we left a few times ago I told her to think about something she wanted to learn.  I wanted her to get a nonfiction book each time and start teaching her about some of the things she's interested in.  As we sat at the table in the library I leaned over and asked her what she had decided.  She said  "I want to learn about Jesus."  My heart about melted and I told her that was a great thing to learn about.  I hope she never looses the love she has for her Savior and for the temple.  She is so inquisitive and curious about everything.  I love it (most of the time)!  She is a great helper for me and is usually willing to do all her "jobs".  I love that she is so eager to help and can only dream that it won't fade as she gets older.
My little Easton is turning into a little man.  He thinks he can do everything by himself, especially if his big sister can.  He has started asking to go potty and poop in the toilet and no longer wants to wear diapers. I so don't want to start him right now since Madi was so stubborn about it.  He likes to color and play with his cars.  He almost always has at least one he's carrying around.  He loves to play with Madi and will play almost anything she wants.  He has decided that he doesn't have to watch what Madi wants all the time and that he should get to pick too.  Aside from Cars, he loves to watch Tinkerbell and Tangled.
He has become a lot more aggressive the last couple of months and has found ways he can push Madi's buttons and get her upset.  (Of course she does it to him too).  He is still a good eater and loves food.  He talks more and more every day.  My favorite part is in the morning when he wakes up and he gets on the floor next to his door and yells in the cutest way "Maaaa eeeee" until I wake up or hear him and come open his door.  I couldn't dream of a better alarm.  He greets me with big hugs and kisses.
I love to be their mom and love to see them interact with each other and play and laugh.  They are such sweet miracles to me and I thank my Heavenly Father for them every day!
These are of Derrick and Madi dancing tonight.  Such a good daddy!
Easton wanted his turn too...
