About Me

Madison...

Madison...
In July 2009 our lives were blessed with the most
wonderful gift ever! We adopted our sweet little Madison. She is full of energy
and keeps us on our toes. She has a smile that will melt your heart and knows
just how to work her mommy and daddy. Madi brings so much joy and happiness into
our lives and we cherish every moments we have with her!

Easton...

Easton...
On April 20, 2011 our sweet little Easton joined our family. We are so grateful
for the blessings of adoption and the amazing woman that has helped to bring our
family here. We are so excited to have a little guy around the house and look
forward to watching him grow.

Lagoon Day 2012...

On Sept. 15 Derrick's work had their company Lagoon Day. It was fun to bring both kids this year and to have Grandpa come with us for part of the day.  We wanted to get there right when it opened but ended up not getting there until about 10:30.  I am so glad that we went early.  The weather was a little cooler in the morning and there were no lines!  The first ride we hit was the Odysea.  I thought Easton would love the rides and I think he was pretty OK with them until the lap bar went down.  He tried to push it off his lap.
When he couldn't, he was MAD!
He pushed on it and cried for most of the ride!
Madi was big enough to go on some of the bigger rides this year which was fun for us.  I was really surprised at how brave she was.  I thought she would cry or not go on some, but she went on any that we got in line for, even the roller coasters that she was big enough for.  If she was too short, she would cry and be sad she wasn't big enough.  She would give us her verdict after every ride, some were scary, some fast and some fun!
Easton was happy with this one until Derrick put the seat belt on him.  I think he doesn't like being restrained.  I can't say I blame him.  He did warm up to the rides after a few and started to really enjoy the day.
Madi LOVED this ride.  It was one of her favorite last year too.
Miss Madi waiting in line right before she pottied all over!
Madi and Grandpa getting on one of the few rides Grandpa could stand... the log flume!
Here they are coming off.  We all rode in one car.  Grandpa got SOAKED!!!!  He rode in the back thinking he would stay dry but nope!  It went right over our heads and got him good!  Madi was thrilled that Grandpa went on a ride with her.
Derrick and Easton coming of the log flume.  After that it was off to Rattle Snake Rapids!
Derrick and Madi getting ready for our raft ride...
Madi and I at the end of the raft ride...  We got SOAKED!!!
We went to Pioneer Village for some pretzels and to get Madi into some dry clothes.  Then off to the kiddy rides.  By this point Easton was really enjoying them.  Grandpa's back was hurting and he enjoyed watching them laugh and giggle from the bench.
It was on this ride that we decided Madi and Easton needed to ride separate.  They kept hitting and screaming at each other waiting for the ride to start.  It was  kind of funny to watch.
Grandpa joined us on the train.  The kids liked seeing the animals.  They need to make them a better home and give them space to move around.  It is kind of sad to see such beautiful animals lying on concrete in a 15x20ish space with nothing to play with or stimulate them in any way.
We had a great lunch and enjoyed chatting a bit with the employees and their families.  Derrick won a Rockstar blanket in the drawing and we all love it!  It is so soft and comfy.  After lunch we did the nice, calm ferris wheel.  I'm pretty sure Easton would've climbed over the side if we didn't keep grabbing him and pulling him back to sit down.
The whole ride there, Madi insisted she was not going on the ferris wheel, that it was scary.  She actually really liked it.  She loved the water slides next to it too!
Flying the airplane...
Of course they enjoyed the carousel.
Derrick took Madi on the Tidal Wave and Puff the Magic Dragon.  Easton went on this ride and the cars.  As soon as he got off he would sign "more" and want to go back on.  He rode this one four or five times.  At about 8:30 I was done.  The rides closed at 9:00 so we decided to call it a night.  We had a great day and look forward to doing it again next year!  Thanks M&M Distributing for a great day!

Happy Birthday to me!!!

We seem to celebrate my birthday the same way every year, and I totally don't mind.  This year it was on a Wednesday.  Derrick scheduled his post-op appointment for the morning and took the day off.  I was thrilled to spend the day with him since I don't always get to.  He spoiled me to pieces!  I got a new camera and a Chi.  After a relaxing morning we went to the fair.  This is what we have done the last few years to celebrate and I always enjoy it.  Madi has really started to enjoy photography and wants to use our little camera whenever I will let her.  Here is one she took of a chicken.
Of course one of the favorites is the pony rides.  This was Easton's first one.  I wasn't sure what he would think, but he totally loved it!
He even got brave... Look... no hands!!!
Madi liked it too, not sure why she looks so scared.
Easton loved all the animals!  He wanted to touch them all.  He has just started learning that not all animals say "ROAR"!  It was fun to show him the real animals and help him learn the sounds.
We love the little hands farm and hit it every year.  It is so much fun for the kids.
Easton thought it was great!  He liked exploring and being in a new environment.
Madi was scared of the cow that you milk.  Silly girl had been talking about it for a week and then decided it was scary. :D  Picking their apples...
Madi planted carrots.  Easton planted green peppers.
My cute little farmers...
I think Madi was a little scared of the sheep too.  I didn't give her a choice though. :D
After the fair we went home for my favorite, cheesecake!  It was so yummy!  Thanks for always making my birthday special babe!  I love you!!!

America's Next Top Model???

Miss Madi loves to have her picture taken and wants to see it as soon as the flash goes off.  My DSLR recently broke and I have only snapped a few with my phone.  Lucky for me, a new DSLR along with an external flash, multiple lenses and other goodies is on it's way and will be here just in time for my birthday.  (Thank you mom, dad and Derrick!)

Madi's first project...

Madi is my little crafter and I LOVE it!  I love that she is old enough to craft with me and that she wants to!  Madi did the O in our HOME letters from start to finish (minus the sanding and a few clean ups on drips) and I am so proud of her awesome work!  The O is replaced with cute little things for each holiday, but we just might have to leave it in there for a little while.

Abby...

Madi LOVES animals.  She was thrilled with Annie when she brought her four kittens to her shower so Madi could play with them.  This is Abby, the princess of the bunch and the one Madi would've loved to take home.  Maybe someday, when you can clean the litter box. :D

Christmas for free...

Do you save all those little codes that come with your diapers?  I sure hope so.  I recently cashed in some of my Huggie Rewards and got this awesome train for one of Easton's Christmas presents for FREE!  I didn't even have to pay shipping.  Retail on this is $17.  I was totally stoked!  I do Disney Rewards and Pamper's Rewards too.  If you have any you good ones let me know and if you have kids in diapers and don't use your codes, call me.  I'll come pick them up! :D
