About Me

Madison...

Madison...
In July 2009 our lives were blessed with the most
wonderful gift ever! We adopted our sweet little Madison. She is full of energy
and keeps us on our toes. She has a smile that will melt your heart and knows
just how to work her mommy and daddy. Madi brings so much joy and happiness into
our lives and we cherish every moments we have with her!

Easton...

Easton...
On April 20, 2011 our sweet little Easton joined our family. We are so grateful
for the blessings of adoption and the amazing woman that has helped to bring our
family here. We are so excited to have a little guy around the house and look
forward to watching him grow.

Sink or Swim???

Lately I feel like my blog is sinking.  While I love having it, keeping up on it has become a chore that I am failing.  My kids hate when I am on the computer so I rarely have time to do it during the day.  Then I get so far behind that I put it off until I can't any longer.  Seriously, it is the 27th of November and all I have posted this month were things I had to catch up from October.  No one ever comments anymore (not that that is why I blog, but it is nice to know some of the people I am keeping this up for are reading it.) I got on to post tonight and it told me my memory is at it's max and I have to pay to add more.  GRRRR!!!

LOL!!!

While we were trick or treating, we saw this sign.  It cracks me up!  It reads "Neighbor: This is NOT a dog dumping area.  This is MY YARD & kids play here.  Take your dog to your yard to poop! Robert Hill".  I thought it was awesome!

Trick or treat...

October 31st was a beautiful day.  When we were ready to go out trick or treating it was somewhere between 75 and 80 degrees.  AMAZING!  Especially for Utah.  It worked great for Madi since she chose to be a ballerina and didn't want to wear a coat.
My little E Baby was Superman, and about the cutest one I've ever seen!
First we went to the Square at 26th and trick or treated there.  It was such a great way to take little ones.  After we were done there we went to mom and dad's to trick or treat.  We went around their neighborhood and saw lots of old friends.  One of the houses was passing out glow bracelets.  Easton caught on really quick that it wasn't edible and wanted nothing to do with it.  He kept throwing it on the ground and we would pick it up and give it to him, just for him to drop it again.  We were at one house and he threw it over their railing into a bush.  I set him down there to pick it up and he grabbed it and hid it inside the bush.  He seriously wanted nothing to do with it.  It was pretty funny to watch him.  Heidi came with us around the block.  After six or seven houses, it was back to the folks to help dad pass out there.  It was a relaxing night and we just sat around talking and enjoying a little time together.
We spent the night and dad came out from getting a water laughing at how Easton was sleeping.  It was too cute.  I had to get a picture.  It was a fun Halloween and Madi is already talking about next year.  :D

The First Snow of the Year...

We got our first snow for the year on October 25th.  Madi was SOOO excited!  She woke up, looked outside and ran to me to see if she could go play in it.
Easton was glad to get outside but wasn't a fan of all the layers. :D
Madi dove right in and made a snow angel.  She is so cute!
Of course it didn't take Easton long to wander to the back yard to play with his bunnies.
I love this picture of him!
He kept falling down and had such a hard time getting up with his snow stuff on.  It was kinda funny to watch.  Poor kid!
Trying to catch Hopper and Thumper.
And so sad they didn't want to play.
Madi came to his rescue and played with him instead.  He likes to play with her more anyway. :D

Carving Pumpkins...

We got our pumpkins from Black Island Farms.  They ended up being all about the same shape and size.  I love decorating pumpkins and decided this year I was going to do a Cars pumpkin.  This was Easton's first year to clean his.  He wasn't so sure about it at first.
Derrick gave Madi and Easton spoons.  Since it was his first year, I took it away from Easton.  I wanted to see his reaction to the guts.  :D
He didn't seem to mind them at all.  I think he actually kind of liked playing in it.
After a handful or two of the insides, Easton started spitting in his pumpkin.  That's when he was done.
He even helped me clean out mine!
Madi didn't like cleaning hers out and gave it to Derrick to finish.
I tried to get her to use her hand, but she wasn't interested in that at all.  This is the only picture I got of her cleaning her pumpkin.
Derrick decided to go with my Cars theme and carved Luigi.
I carved Mac, Lightning McQueen and Mater on mine.
I carved Madi and Easton's too.  Madi wanted Rapunzel and Easton wanted Kermit the Frog.  So much fun to do pumpkins.

Backyard Fun...

Madi and Easton love to play outside.  It doesn't matter how hot or cold the weather is, they love it.  Madi heads straight for the trampoline and Easton goes right to his bunnies.  He LOVES his bunnies.
On occasion Madi will stop jumping and play ball with me and Easton.  I need to get her a soccer ball.  She loves to kick it balls around and "play" soccer.
She has started to be a little bit of a ham.  I like it!  It makes getting some good pictures of her so much easier.

Are you in there bunnies?
He is so sad that the bunnies won't play with him.  It happens almost every time we play out back.  He chases them for ten or fifteen minutes and then sits and cries, defeated.  Then gets up and starts again. :D
I love that Easton is at an age that they play together.  It is fun to hear them laugh and play and giggle together.  Easton loves to rough house and get Madi.  She is so good to let him knock her down and play.  Easton takes it pretty well too.

A little more randomness...

I have no idea who's house this is or where we were when I took this, but he cracked me up with these glasses.  He thought they were pretty cool!

When I put Easton down for his nap, he usually is not all that thrilled about it.  A lot of the time he will get up and play for awhile and then lay down on his floor and fall asleep when he is ready.  There have been a few times that I have walked by and seen his little toes sticking out.  He is such a doll!  I love this little man!
A lot of kids get tired of their pets after the newness wears off.  Madi was sort of that way, but not this one.  Easton LOVES his bunnies and as soon as we open the door to go out back he heads right over to the bunnies and lets them out.  He feeds them and pets them when they will let him.  He tries to catch them and gets so sad if they don't want to play with him.  He definitely loves animals!
The other day I could hear the sink running and went to see who was in the bathroom.  It was my Easton boy!  He had climbed up on the toilet, onto the counter and was sitting in the sink, playing in the water.  This kid is my monkey.  He climbs EVERYWHERE and is so fearless.  He is really keeping me on my toes lately.

Meeting Cordon...
Madi was so excited to meet her new cousin Cordon.  She really likes him and was so sweet with him.  Easton liked him too.  He wanted to hold him the whole time.  If he couldn't, he DIDN'T want me to hold Cordon.  Easton was so funny, a little bit jealous, and a lot in love with the sweet new baby in our family. :D
I'm not sure what this picture is from, she probably just wanted me to take one.  She is my little princess and has recently been reminding me that a lot, literally.  She has said some cute things.  The other day we were driving in the car and this is the conversation...
Me: You're my angel.
Madi: No I'm not.
Me: Are you my princess?
Madi: Yep and I'm supposed to have a crown.
She has also been telling me she is Cinderella.  She has fallen in love with that movie and I think she is probably the new favorite.  Tinkerbell may have to take a back seat for a while.
Madi still LOVES all things ballerina and loves to wear them around the house.  A few days before Halloween, she was getting one on and Easton saw her Tinkerbell costume hanging in the closet.  He wanted to try it on.  He even wanted the bow. :D  Look at the two of them!

My Easton will play with anything.  He found this box and thought it made a great seat while I loaded the dishwasher.  He is so cute, so full of curiosity.  He loves exploring and learning new things.  I love this age!
