About Me

Madison...

Madison...
In July 2009 our lives were blessed with the most
wonderful gift ever! We adopted our sweet little Madison. She is full of energy
and keeps us on our toes. She has a smile that will melt your heart and knows
just how to work her mommy and daddy. Madi brings so much joy and happiness into
our lives and we cherish every moments we have with her!

Easton...

Easton...
On April 20, 2011 our sweet little Easton joined our family. We are so grateful
for the blessings of adoption and the amazing woman that has helped to bring our
family here. We are so excited to have a little guy around the house and look
forward to watching him grow.

Easton's Stiches...

Sorry they are blurry, but trying to get my one year old to sit still long enough for my phone to snap a picture is like asking a popsicle not to melt when it's 100 degrees!  This kid is always on the go!  I think I already posted about Easton cutting his finger on Derrick's birthday, but I had to add the pictures.  Glad for the tongue depressor that finally entertained him for a few minutes!!! :D

Does it get easier???

I have two beautiful babies and an amazing husband that I love more than anything!  I wouldn't trade Madi or Easton for anything out there, not even for a biological child.  I can't imagine my life without them.  I am thrilled being their mom and love almost every moment I have with them. (I say almost because I could really go without the temper tantrums :D).  I thought that once I had my own babies, the sting that comes when one of my sil's announces that she's prego would be gone.  It was with the last three announcements, but one of my sil's just told us all she's pregnant and it's back.  I think that with the other three, mine were still babies so it wasn't hard.  Now that they are growing up and I can't have a baby just because I want to, the sting is back.  :(  It isn't their fault and I am truly excited for them and thrilled to have another niece/nephew, I just thought I was done with this kind of hurt, and am struggling to find peace with it all.  I hope that someday I can learn to let go of the ache I have for a big family and be 100% thrilled for anyone that is having a baby and 90% thrilled-10% jealous.  So, for anyone that has been in my shoes, does it get easier or is this something I just need to get used to???

Pictures for a friend...

Last week I took pictures of my friends little guy.  Madi saw me putting up my black backdrop and ran for horse and begged for me to take pictures of her.  She is such a cutie!
So, here are a few of the ones I liked of S...
This one and the next one are my faves!

Madi's Birthday day 3...

Madi's birthday started with her three year old check up.  She is 32 lbs and is 35" tall.  (I told her she has a month to grow an inch.  We are going to Lagoon on Sept. 15 and she has to be 36" so we can take her on rides!)  She is growing and doing great.  The doctor was impressed with all she says and how well she can speak.  We stopped at the bakery next door and she got a "sparkly" donut.  As soon as we got home she changed into her "ballerina" and wanted to watch a movie.  Look how cute she is...
At 11:30 her FAVORITE babysitters came and played with her while I went to my post surgery appointment.  After we played with chalk before getting ready for her big night.
We got ready so we could leave as soon as Derrick got home.  She was totally excited!
Look how big my little three year old is.  She is growing up so fast!!!
Once Derrick came home, it was off to Chuck E Cheese!  Madi loved playing the games and riding the toys.
Easton thought it was alright too.  :D
I love this face!  He cracks me up!!!
When we got home, Madi opened her last present...

She got the Disney Princess Ballerina's!  She really likes them.  I think she had a pretty good birthday!  I love ya Madi!

Derrick's day...

On Sunday we were able to celebrate the best man ever, my handsome hubby!  We had already given him his presents at the beginning of the week.  (He doesn't want his birthday to interfere with Madi's, he wants it to be all about her.)  Madi and Easton each got him a new shirt and I gave him a couple ties and a couple pair of jeans.  His birthday landed on Sunday, so we didn't do much aside from church stuff.  I did make him his requested dinner and fresh peach cobbler.  Just before 7:00, when dinner had a few minutes left to bake, Easton grabbed a tin can from the trash and sliced open his finger.  I spent the next three hours in the ER waiting for them to stitch it up.  Derrick got Madi to bed and watched the Olympics.
Derrick deserves to have an awesome day.  He deserves to be spoiled and to have everyone recognize him.  It never happens that way.  I feel like he always gets shafted.  He does so much for everyone around him and is always willing to serve.  He loves and accepts everyone.  He isn't judgemental.  He's a peace maker.  He is a hard worker and a leader, but not bossy or unkind or power hungry.  He rarely, if ever complains.  He is the best man I know and I am grateful to be his eternal companion.  I love you babe!

Birthday celebration day 2...

Saturday morning we enjoyed a little more time with family before they were off and Madi played on her bike.  Then we met mom and dad at Garcia's to celebrate the birthday's of two of my favorite people... Derrick and Madi! (I will post pics of that later, I need to scan them in.)  We went to the Disney store and Madi spent her birthday money from Grandma and Grandpa.
We went back to grandma and grandpa's to show them the "ballerina" that Madi picked for her birthday.  She LOVES it.  We ran a few more errands and headed home for the day.

Happy Birthday to Madi...

We had a little party for Madi on the 27th.  It was just family.  Maybe next year she can do friends.  :D  It was a perfect night!  She had Chris, Annie, Andrew, Holly and Tiff.  Rick was working:(.  Madi did get super lucky and Mindy and Jeff came to celebrate with us as well.  That was one of the best parts!  It made it extra special!
Mindy and Easton playing "CRASH"!  Easton LOVES to crash trucks and cars into each other.  Future derby driver? Maybe???
We gave Madi a helmet.  It was a little small so we traded it for a bigger one over the weekend.
Mindy gave her a Tinkerbell card, Madi's favorite!  Grandma Hawkins gave her a Tinkerbell card on the 25th so Madi saw the envelope when Mindy got here, grabbed it, asked if Tinkerbell was inside and carried it the rest of the night until we let her open it.  She still LOVES Tinkerbell!
Telling Mindy thank you for her card, a Tinkerbell doll and her favorite, her dog Toto that came with a purse to carry her in.
Toto...
Give Jeff a big thank you too!  Thank you Jeff and Mindy for the awesome gifts and for coming!!!
Easton liked her gifts too!
We had her close her eyes and told her we had one last surprise.  Jeff pulled out a Thomas the Train bubble set they had brought to Easton about the same time.  Derrick put her bike in the middle of the floor and we told her to open her eyes.  She went right past her bike to the bubble set.  We told her those were for Easton.  She turned around, saw her bike and said "Hey".  It was so cute! She loved her Pinkalicious bike.  We have it on video, I will have to get it on soon.
The card Mindy and Jeff gave her had spots to color and stickers to put on.  Madi thought it was the greatest card EVER!
Uncle Chris playing with Easton's bubble set...
Madi coloring her card...
Madi wanted a Pinkalicious cupcake so Aunt Annie made her a cute one!  It's even pink on the inside!  She also took pictures so I didn't have to.  What would we do without Annie?  We love her so much!!!
Sharing with brother.  She can be such a sweet sister when she wants to.  We had a great night and are so grateful for our family that came to celebrate with us.  We are so blessed!

Tiny toes...

I was mopping the floor a week ago and was in the hall.  I mop on my hands and knees so when I brushed against some toes it freaked me out for a second.  Easton climbed off his bed and was napping behind his door.  His little toes were sticking out.  Such a sweet boy!

I'm twee...

Madi wanted me to take some pictures of her so we hung the sheet and snapped away while Easton napped.  She is such a cutie!  I should have got out my lights though. :(
She is trying so hard to get the three fingers right so she can show everyone how old she is.  :D
