About Me

Madison...

Madison...
In July 2009 our lives were blessed with the most
wonderful gift ever! We adopted our sweet little Madison. She is full of energy
and keeps us on our toes. She has a smile that will melt your heart and knows
just how to work her mommy and daddy. Madi brings so much joy and happiness into
our lives and we cherish every moments we have with her!

Easton...

Easton...
On April 20, 2011 our sweet little Easton joined our family. We are so grateful
for the blessings of adoption and the amazing woman that has helped to bring our
family here. We are so excited to have a little guy around the house and look
forward to watching him grow.

Peaches...

My sister in law, Erin, and I canned peaches!  It is the first time I have done (other then helping my mom when I was growing up) and I am so happy with how they turned out!  They are so yummy!!!

Madi's First Dance Class... 9.11.2013

Little miss Madi is finally old enough to take dance.  She has a fabulous teacher and some super cute girls in her class.  It is a mix of ballet, tap and tumbling. She has waited a long time for his and was so excited.  Then the morning of, everything changed.  She cried the whole morning saying she just wanted to watch and she only liked to dance in our house.  (I think she thought that I was going to take her and tell her to dance for a whole bunch of people.)  We got there and Mrs. Julie took her hand and brought her to the group.  She relaxed and watched so intently so she knew what to do.  Since then I don't even have to walk her to the door.  She says "I can do it by myself, ok mom."  She jumps out walks a little, turns and gives me a thumbs up with a BIG grin and then heads in.  When did she get so big?
Madi comes home after each class and tells me all about what they did and shows me the things she learned.  She walks around the house and will say "Watch mom, jete" and do a jete.  (or a plié or a position or something else they have learned.)
The first week she wore her tap shoes around the house EVERYDAY!  Then I spent half an hour looking for one before her next class.  Now her tap shoes and ballet shoes have a special bag that they stay in.  She does like to grab them and show people that come over all she has learned.  I love to watch the joy on her face as she dances, learns and figures out new moves.

Feelin' Crafty...

I haven't posted my crafts for a long time so I have tons!  This isn't all of them but it's a start.
I got this frame from my sister in law when she was cleaning out a storage shed.  It was gold but I knew I wanted it as soon as she put it in the DI pile.  I refinished it for Madi.  Now I need to order a mirror for it.
I glittered the pink trim.  I LOVE how it turned out and can't wait to see it with the mirror.  Madi loves it too.  Now I need another one to put in my living room. :D
Here is another frame I refinished for Madi.  It was also gold.  The picture is her caricature.
The one in the back is a transfer to wood.  I like how it came out but I think I want to do one in color.  I think I will like that better.  I made this Rough and Tough for my E baby.  It fits him to a T!
I did this as a thank you gift but then didn't end up using it.  Derrick really liked how it turned out so we hung onto it.
I got this fall trio for my birthday and I LOVE how it turned out.  I really needed some fall décor and am excited for Halloween to be done so I can put this out along with my other harvest/Thanksgiving stuff.
My amazing brother and sister threw my a surprise birthday party and I was totally surprised!  They gave me these cute owls to finish.  I really like the way they turned out.  I LOVE this paper!  Add some grey and it is the colors I want to redo my kitchen in.  I guess I will be keeping these little guys out all year! A HUGE thank you Chris and Annie and my other siblings for the special day!  I love you guys!

Lagoon... 8.17.2013

M&M Lagoon Day!!!  We love that they have the company party at Lagoon.  It is something the kids look forward to all year.  Madi talks about it every time we pass Lagoon.  I like meeting the people he works with, putting faces to names and chatting with the ones I know.  We were so lucky to have Grandpa come with us again this year.  Madi and Easton adore him and we love that he was able to come with us and make some fun memories.
These two were funny.  They preferred to not share a seat and ended up bugging each other by the time the ride was done on almost all the rides.
We all like the train!  All of us are able to ride on it together and see the animals...
Easton couldn't de3cide if he wanted to sit with Grandpa or daddy.  He went back and forth a couple times before deciding on daddy.
The longest lines were the log flume and Rattle Snake Rapids.  After last year Grandpa said "NO WAY" to the log flume.  He and Easton went and got a treat while we were waiting in line at Rattle Snake Rapids.  Madi got tired of waiting in this line although I thought it moved pretty fast.  Hopefully next year Easton will be tall enough to go o it with us.
Almost there...
I love this picture of my sweet princess and my handsome hubby!
Here's one of the three of us right before we got SOAKED!!!
We got drenched on Rattle Snake Rapids, especially me!  Madi didn't love that. :D
Love my little dude!  They were both such troopers!
New for 2013... Red Rock Ride
The kids rode rides all day and by the end of the day they were ready to cool off on the splash pad.
They make the boys wear shirts and the girls wear pants/shorts/skirts and they have to leave their shoes on.  What silly rules for a splash pad!  Especially since we saw people walking around the park half naked all day!
Since Madi's suit had a tutu they let it count as her skirt.
We had a fabulous day and Derrick and I were able to bounce back on a date.  It was nice to go on some of the adult rides and remember some of the many memories we have made there.  The first few years we were married we had season passes and spent many days there.  I love Lagoon!
